· Benefits: Higher strength, tarnish resistant, good anti-frictional characteristics, low rates of scaling and corrosion in atmospheric conditions, resistant to corrosion in sea water, low oxidation rates at higher temperatures, low reactivity with sulfurous compounds and other exhaust products of combustion, copper component of alloy prevents colonization by marine organisms including algae, lichens barnacles and mussels
